There is But One Reason Why You should be in San Sebastian
Food. Yes I went to San Sebastian for the food and delicacies that they served in their restaurants. Not to count the Michelin Awardees that you got to look pout for whenever you are in the vicinity of San Sebastian.
From Barcelona to San Sebastian you got to ride a train for 8 hours; better to have a night train if you wanted to sleep the time away but if you wanted to see the scenery while on train which also offers such scenic beauty then it is also another option. Flying to San Sebastian from Madrid or Barcelona is also a possibility which would take only an hour.
Travel to San Sebastian means a chance to taste delicious food from restaurants who grab the Michelin Star Designation. Michelin Star is an award given to restaurants by the Michelin Guide, an annual guide books for several countries which points out the best and famous restaurants in country. This guide has the reputation of either making or breaking the reputation of a hotel and considered as famous and reliable.
Three of the restaurants in San Sebastian are considered as one of the Best Restaurants in the whole world; to mention- Akelare, Martin Berasategui and Arzak. If these though are beyond your budget, no need to worry for the whole place is buzzing with great places to eat. Tapas are very much famous for tourist and thus places to hunt for delicious tapas are plentiful. As they say- tapas may not originate here in San Sebastian but the art of making it was perfected here!
If you are a night owl sleeping quarters in San Sebastian in not a problem. The city is quite small and compact that anywhere you sleep is more or less very near to the action you wanted.
