San Sebastian’s Interesting Highlights

The city of San Sebastian is one of the great cities to visit in Spain. It is a blessed city abounding with great sceneries and captivating architectures. The beaches of the city are jaw dropping. There is no question why it has been appointed as one of the favorite spot of those travelers craving for clean, crystal like water. But aside from these interesting places in San Sebastian another must see in the city are its parks and churches.

The Casco histórico de Getaria – known as the earliest town to be found in the Guipúzcoa which is believed dates back since 1209; it is popular because of its financial and commercial significance.

Barrio de la Marina – known as the old fishing district which historically named as Hondarribia. The only thing that remains in the old fishing village is the two major streets which are now contain restaurants and bars. Some of the highlights here include the remains of the old house which dates back from the 1574 as well as the Magdalena Church. You could also find here the Hondarribia port which was built in the 1895.

The Convento de Santa Teresa – this is made of church as well as the other various buildings. This church was built during the 17th century while the other structures were followed in the 18th century until this recent period. In recent period, some of the events in the city especially musical events are being held here.

The Edificio de Correos – located in the Plaza del Buen particularly in Pastor Area. This highlight of the city was once known as a school of trades and house. Today is it already a present post office of the district. The edifice is composed of masonry stone which also has an evidence of French architectural influence. You will notice it through the design of the attic that it has.
