San Sebastian Museums
San Sebastian has numerous museums that you can go and visit to and learn about their culture and their local artists and so on. If you are an art enthusiasts, while you are in San Sebastian its museums are worth to visit. The museums that you can find in San Sebastian are the Museu Chillida Leku, Museo Diocesano de San Sebastian, Museo San Telmo, and the Museo Naval.

Museu Chillida Leku. Is at Hernani Spain which is a half hour away from San Sebastian, this museum just opened last 2000 and this celebrates the works of Eduardo Chillida which is one of San Sebastian’s local artists. His famous works includes, Lugar de Encuentros which you can see from the Madrid Bridge. Chillida as one of the best sculptures in San Sebastian, his artworks is displayed on this museum on a twelve-acre of farm and the farmhouse serves as the gallery for his works.

Museo Diocesano de San Sebastian. This is a diocesan museum which displays the evolution of the religious artworks and the craftsmanship through the years. The museum showcases paintings and sculptures that the diocese has purchased from the eighteenth century to the nineteenth century. They also have gallery that show the pieces from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century of the San Miguel of Onate Parish. The museum itself is also nicely decorated with its tile flooring and walls that are lightly painted.

Museo San Telmo. The museum showcases the art collections that are from the nineteenth century to the twentieth century, they also have galleries of artilleries that are from the fourteen hundreds and up to this day. There are also paintings, frescoes and sculptures by famous artists such as Rubens and El Greco.

Museo Naval. The museum has the exhibits and chronicles of the artifacts of this city’s maritime that have been influenced from. The museum is in an eighteenth century building where it also showcases the history of the construction of boats and also some navigation instruments and documents.
