Some of the interesting places to visit in San Sebastian
The city of San Sebastian is known to be a perfect place for a summer escapade. The city has a rich and unique history with its friendly people and attractive sights. There is so much to discover in San Sebastian that you should have to know. In fact it has almost everything your heart desires the whole year round. The scenery to view in San Sebastian includes white glimmering beaches, various entertainments, rich cultural activities, best international cuisine, dynamic people, local festivals like the Caldereros and the Semana Grande. These are just some of the many interesting activities to experience in San Sebastian. When it comes to the places of interest in San Sebastian it includes the following.
- Zarautz—this is now a developed trendy town in San Sebastian. This was known as an old village but eventually refurbished and develops into a contemporary town. Its steep surrounding is now been abounding with contemporary posh cafes and hotels, despite the busy roads it features the beaches that it has is always filled with tourists. Zarautz is also a very popular town for surf enthusiasts and during the month of September this fascinating town is expected to cater various numbers of surfing enthusiast.
- Perla y la Caseta de Baños (La)—this was built on the walls of La Concha Beach, it has been said that the purpose of the buildings were supposedly for recreational purposes. But recently today, this has become a thermal bath while the other building was made as the headquarters of the Deportivo Club.
- Palacio de Aiete—this palace was influenced by the French castles, this was built in 1878. The façade that it has captures various visitors every year because of its unique design and because of its ponds and gardens. Since it is located in the elevated part it is also a great location for sightseeing and relaxing.
- Barrio de la Marina—this was known as an old fishing district which said to be where and old village named Hondarriba is also found. Today, the only remnants to be found here are the two main streets which have restaurants and bars. You can also found here the Magdalena church which is an old house since 1574 as well as the Hondarriba port bates back since 1985.
