3 Amazing Architectural styles in San Sebastian
Perhaps you might ask why since then until these recent times San Sebastian of Spain is a never ending favorite rushing holiday destination of the vacationers. There are many reasons a countless reasons why it has been a favorite holiday spot of the many. One of the reasons is its incredible and unique architectural styles. There are three different architectural styles in San Sebastian; the Gothic style architecture, Renaissance architectural style and the Baroque architectural style. Below are the examples of each of the architectural style that you can see in San Sebastian.
Gothic Architectural style
- The Palacio de Miramar—or also the Royal Miramar Country House. It was architect Selden Wornum who designed the said palace, which includes the local influences and the Neo-Gothic features. It was Queen Maria Cristina who decided this palace to be built which until now features a lovely place with lovely gardens where you can view the bay.
- Iglesia Parroquial San Salvador—this gothic architectural style of San Sebastian is located in Getaria. This church was established to adapt to the arrangement of the land and that would uneven the layout of the ground.
Renaissance Architectural style
- Iglesia de San Anton—this architecture is in fact has different styles (Renaissance and Baroque). The tower is in the baroque style which was added in 1777 while the porch is a renaissance style.
- San Telmo Museum—this museum is actually part of the convent. Its architectural style is belonged to the renaissance style.
Baroque architectural style
- Casa Consistorial en Hondarribia—appointed now as the home of the Town Hall with a baroque style of architecture. It is made up of masonry stones. Some of the most interesting parts of the buildings are its balcony and its entrance porch.
- The Iglesia de San Pedro—one of the incredible churches in San Sebastian because of its baroque style of architecture. The entranceway that it has has an image of Saint Peter.
