It is a blessed city abounding with great sceneries and captivating architectures. The beaches of the city are jaw dropping. There is no question why it has been appointed as one of the favorite spot of those travelers craving for clean, crystal like water. But aside from these interesting places in San Sebastian another must see in the city are its parks and churches.

The Casco histórico de Getaria – known as the earliest town to be found in the Guipúzcoa which is believed dates back since 1209; it is popular because of its financial and commercial significance.

Barrio de la Marina – known as the old fishing district which historically named as Hondarribia. The only thing that remains in the old fishing village is the two major streets which are now contain restaurants and bars. Some of the highlights here include the remains of the old house which dates back from the 1574 as well as the Magdalena Church. You could also find here the Hondarribia port which was built in the 1895.

The Convento de Santa Teresa – this is made of church as well as the other various buildings. This church was built during the 17th century while the other structures were followed in the 18th century until this recent period. In recent period, some of the events in the city especially musical events are being held here.

The Edificio de Correos – located in the Plaza del Buen particularly in Pastor Area. This highlight of the city was once known as a school of trades and house. Today is it already a present post office of the district. The edifice is composed of masonry stone which also has an evidence of French architectural influence. You will notice it through the design of the attic that it has.

The city is also the capital city of Guipuscoa Province. Travelers have differing opinions on their travel to this beautiful Basque country. Diverse visitors thus painted several different pictures of sightseeing San Sebastian. Each may represent distinct truths in travel stories.

However, in every travel the fact remains that you would like to take a bit of the meat of the attractions. You wanted to know mostly of the popular attractions. So, if only we got 24 hours to tour San Sebastian what are the major tourist attractions and activities that you can engage to.

Top Major Attractions in San Sebastian

Playa de la Concha, San Sebastian

Hondaribbia Town

Monte Urgull

Aquarium

Museo de San Telmo

Naval Museum

Funicular to the top of Monte Igueldo

The above mentioned top major attractions in San Sebastian are majority of the famous attractions in the city. Playa de la Concha for example is so popular with tourist seeking the calm effect of the sea breezes and sea water- I mean the beaches. While the Hondaribbia Town has in its niche some beautiful attractions that you must really visit and see like the highest point of the town, Playa de Armas; Office of the Tourism and former castle of Emperor Carlos V; a 15th century church with Gothic style, Santa Maria de la Asuncion Parish Church; some sights like the Castle of San Telmo, Zuloaga palace, Casadevante Palace and the Higuer Lighthouse.

The beaches and the waves are very popular factors why tourists go to this city annually. A Spanish language study though is another major factor. Tourists usually stay in San Sebastian for a range of 10 hours to two days. Transportation coming and going out of the city is very dependable thus the fasts go in and out of tourist.
