Playa de la Concha
Centro, San Sebastián - Guipúzcoa, Spain
Playa de Concha is San Sebastián's largest and most popular beach. It is best during the summertime for some swimming and sunbathing fun. There is a statue of Jesus that stands high above the city, overlooking all. During daytime, the beach is popular for water sports, including kayaking, canoeing, and sail boating. At night, the beach is strewn with lovely white lights, including along the path that lines the beach. The lights bounce off the water, giving the entire beach a fairytale-like atmosphere.
Playa de Ondarreta
Monte Igeldo, San Sebastián - Guipúzcoa, Spain
The name ‘Ondarreta’ means "little beach" in Euskera, the language of Pais Vasco (Basque Province). The name is certainly appropriate since Playa de Ondarreta is connected to the larger, more popular Playa de la Concha. The beach is a great place to watch the sailboats go by. You can settle in along the barrier wall and observe the activities of the sea. However, be cautious of the water because the high tide often reaches the wall quickly! You can also stroll along the nice walkway and breathe the smell of sea and salt. There is also a small park overlooking the beach where you can relax and read a book.
Playa de la Zurriola
Gros, San Sebastián - Guipúzcoa, Spain
Zurriola is beach lined with hotels and establishments. Although this beach is not as popular for swimming because it is considered less protected, Playa de la Zurriola is still popular for relaxed beach strolling or for soaking in the sun. The impressive building Kursall looks out over this beach. Moneo, a famous Spanish architect, built this well-known edifice.
